About our Dixon Plant
Wet Batch Central Mix Drum
The Central Mix Drum on the Wet Batch Plant is the reason why our concrete is the best around, it is the only one like it in the area! First the concrete is mixed in the drum that is mounted on the plant and after that the wet concrete is dumped into the trucks for delivery. The concrete we produce is specially mixed by a drum that's designed only to mix which makes our product very different from concrete from all the other plants around. Those other plants classify as dry batch plants where the truck does all the mixing, therefore those plants cannot make a mix like ours. The difference between the two types is all in the mixing. It would be like comparing a blender to a spoon. Some benefits of our drum would include: No balling, higher long term strengths, better finish-ability, early strengths to continue building or working upon and greater slump control.
Enclosed Plant
Capacity and flexibility can be everything! We have the ability to use 3 different types of cement and 4 types of aggregates. With this combination of bins, we can produce any type of mix desired including specialized mixes that very few plants around the area can make! Also, our enclosed plant can produce concrete in any type of weather. If it is fully heated and sheltered for whatever mother nature throws at us!
Indoor Bins
Our high capacity Indoor heated bins, which are both above the plant and in our separate aggregate storage building, lets us heat up large amounts of sand and gravel and keep it warm in the winter months and keep it shaded and cool in the summer.
Water Chiller
Our Chiller gives us an advantage no one else offers! During the hotter months, we can chill the batch water to just above freezing to make sure the concrete is cool and fits any specification where there is a maximum concrete temperature. Cooler concrete in the summer helps by slowing the set times for an easier and more durable finish along with an increase long term strengths.
Water heater
If you pay for winter service, you should get winter service! Our water heater is the largest in the area being 20,000 gallons! With this water heater and its capacity, we can ensure EVERY load gets hot water in the mix and in the saddle tank in the winter. This system makes our concrete the warmest from the first load to last all day long. It is designed to keep up with the highest production of the plant without dropping in temperature! Our competitors, who do not have the same size water heater and storage tank size, will start to run out of hot water with their small capacity systems. As they batch, the temperature of the concrete will drop, the more they load the less hot water they have. In other words you will pay for their winter service but might NOT get the full benefit!
Heated Garage
Our heated garage keeps the trucks warm, sheltered and ready to work in the winter months. Loading concrete into a truck with a freezing cold drum greatly reduces the temperature of the load.
